WE'RE RACING THE SUN FOR ACTION MEDICAL RESEARCH
We love a challenge, and this April Team Tayplay is ready for a big one…
This year on April 27th, along with strategic communications agency The Foundry and our sister company HAGS, we’ve decided to take part in the Race the Sun charity fundraising challenge in aid of Action Medical Research. This extremely tough event involves cycling 39 miles around the stunning backdrop of Eryri, navigating a 2-mile canoe course on the waters of Llyn Padarn, and climbing to the summit of Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in Wales with an altitude of 1,085m, on a 9-mile round trip along the Llanberis path.
The challenge lives up to its name as we’ll be setting off at dawn and trying to Race the Sun to finish the course by dusk. The race is on for our three teams… Team Tayplay includes: Production Manager, Robbie Lyall; Operations Manager Rob Wilson; Design Engineering Manager, Andrew Little; and Sales Coordinator, Francisco Galindo.
We’ll be joined on the day by two teams who are no strangers to adventure: our clients Team HAGS, the worldclass play equipment manufacturers, and strategic communications agency, The Foundry.
Reaching the summit for a good cause
As well as truly testing our mettle, we’ll be biking, hiking, and paddling for Action Medical Research, the leading UK-wide charity for sick babies and children. For the last 70 years they’ve been saving and changing children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.
Their groundbreaking work includes the first UK polio vaccines, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine, not to mention being a driving force in the fight against premature birth and rare diseases.
